VaultPress has announced a new addition to their monthly plan offering – the new “Lite” plan that costs $5 per month. With this new Lite plan, VaultPress has become more affordable especially to bloggers and small site owners who don’t want to pay $15 per month (for Basic plan) to backup and restore their WordPress based sites.

The new VaultPress Lite plan provides you everything to keep your site safe and backed-up:

  • Daily automatic backups.
  • Automated site restores, so that you can restore your site in a single click.
  • 30 days of backups will be stored, so that you can go back and restore your site to a previous state.

Like other VaultPress plans, this Lite plan too backups your WordPress database tables, plugins, themes, and uploads. And of course, you’ll have access to support staff too, just in case you need the help of an expert.

However, if we compare the Lite plan to the Basic plan, then there are two major differences. Instead of realtime backup in Basic plan, you are offered daily backup in Lite plan, that means no real time backup. Also you just get 30 days of backup saved in your account, compared to more than 30 days of backup offered in Basic plan.

For most small sites and bloggers, a period of 30 days is enough to revert their site to a previous state. For now, with the new low and affordable pricing, VaultPress has targeted budget conscious consumers.

If you don’t know, then VaultPress is a service from Automattic, the same folks that developed WordPress. It has now come in direct comparison with BackupBuddy – a paid plugin that creates backups and restores when required.
